The Scottish Government has been working collaboratively with Registers of Scotland and local authorities to develop an improved landlord registration website and on-line application process.
The first phase of implementation is scheduled for week commencing 16 January 2017. Landlords with properties in Glasgow and Dumfries and Galloway who need to carry out an action on the landlord registration website will be invited to complete their journey using the new system, although they will be able to use the current system if they choose to.
The new system is scheduled to be rolled out to all local authority areas by the end of January. Further updates will be posted here in due course.
Through this website, landlords and agents can apply for registration with all local
authorities in Scotland, track their applications and inform local authorities
of any changes to their details.
Members of the public can search the registers of all local authorities to find
out whether a person or organisation is registered, or to get contact details for
a particular rented property.
